Texas Adoption Resource Exchange (TARE) was established to bring together children with special needs and families who are willing to adopt them. TARE provides information on adoption and foster care, including child search, support programs, and the basic requirements and responsibilities for foster/adoptive families.

The Texas Department of Health-Bureau of Vital Statistics central adoption registry is part of a voluntary mutual-consent registry system originally mandated by the State of Texas' 68th Legislative Session, 1983. It enables persons who are 18 years or older to list their name on the registry to locate other family members who are also listed. This site contains eligibility requirements, printable applications, and information on opening an adoption record.

Families with approved home studies can search for children available for adoption by such criteria as gender, age, or siblings. This site provides pictures and profiles of children who are available for adoption and is updated daily.

Texas Adoption Resource Exchange (TARE) was established to bring together children with special needs and families who are willing to adopt them.
